KKV is an alternative credit investment manager focusing on collateralised, non-correlated, income-producing investments.
The firm was founded in 2020 by a team of seasoned individuals in the alternative credit and private lending space led by Dawn Kendall and Ken Hillen with backing from Kvika banki; a Nordic bank listed on the Nasdaq Iceland main market.
We manage over £425 million in alternative credit assets across two funds; KKV Secured Loan Fund and Secured Income Fund, both of which are traded on the London Stock Exchange.
We employ an analytical, yet dynamic investment process to construct income generating portfolios of SME credits across the UK, Europe and developed markets, favouring robust security and downside protection.
Our team is based in the UK and consists of 16 professionals across investment management, sales and back-office roles.
Sustainable. Risk-aware. Forward thinking.
KKV’s investment strategy is to lend to and build stronger and more sustainable businesses in order to provide consistent income for our investors and Shareholders across multiple economic cycles. We strive to continue our record of developing successful, market leading companies and to be their partner of choice as they grow.
For our investors, we commit to transparency and integrity, making us the preferred partner for our clients, seeking high performance, consistent and uncorrelated investment performance.
Transparency and integrity are key to KKV, and we define our core values as co-operation, professionalism, moral integrity, trust, financial prudence and social responsibility.
We believe that it is good business practice to have strong environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) principles and building these principles into our business practices is good for our investors, employees, companies we lend to and their stakeholders in the long term. As well as complying with regulatory requirements, we encourage our own team and the companies we support to make ESG considerations a part of everyday business.
KKV is a manager of alternative credit funds.
We specialise in diversified portfolios of senior secured loans and leases to small and medium sized enterprises across a range of industries in the UK, Europe and developed markets.
Our aim is to provide investors with a unique combination of non-correlated regular income and downside protection.
At the heart of our investment process lie meticulous analyses of borrowers and a thorough understanding of risk, building on decades‘ experience managing complex credit portfolios throughout the cycle.
Our funds invest exclusively in the senior layers of the capital structure while maintaining a flexible and dynamic approach to collateral and security arrangements, opening up access to an underbanked segment of the credit market where return-on-expertise is maximised.
Our bespoke credit underwriting aims to ensure that each investment has strong downside protection, backed by business-essential, revenue-producing (or cost-saving) equipment and other assets or arrangements with high in-place value and long economic life relative to the investment term.
The KKV Secured Loan Fund's objective is to generate regular income for investors through collateralised investments in business-essential equipment and hard assets and in asset-and-equipment-based project financings.
The Secured Income Fund Plc is designed to provide shareholders with attractive risk-adjusted returns predominantly through investment in a range of SME loan assets and secured lending opportunities, diversified by way of asset class, geography and structure.
Our approach is led by the Firm’s core values, which we expect our team to adhere to in the way they conduct themselves and represent KKV– and in turn, wherever relevant, in our environmental, social and governance policies.
We are still a growing business and our mission regarding ESG is only just the beginning. Together with our colleagues in other subsidiary businesses of Kvika, we expect this policy to develop and adapt to our changing environment and circumstances over time.
KKV Investment Management (the Firm) is committed to achieving the best possible risk-adjusted returns through integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into its core investment analysis and decision making process. The Firm recognises the value in analysing ESG risks and opportunities.
